What’s Faster a Suzuki Hayabusa or Bugatti Veyron?

Peak torque is very impressive at 107 ft-lb at 7,500 rpm. The Hayabusa engine is exceptionally strong across the entire rev range.

From as low as 3,000 rpm, it already delivers more than 80 ft-lb of torque, which gradually builds to 100 ft-lb at just over 6,500 rpm.

While the engine is strong everywhere, the real magic happens between 7,000 rpm and 9,000 rpm, where a gargantuan amount of power and torque is available, delivering earth-shattering acceleration.

Compared with the first-generation ZX-14R and Honda’s CBR1100XX, the Gen 2 Hayabusa engine is noticeably punchier. The ZX-14R can only really compete right at the very top end.

Gen 2 Suzuki GSX1300R Acceleration Curve

The 2008-2020 Gen 2 Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa is one of the fastest-accelerating motorcycles off the line, thanks to its massive power, long wheelbase, and extra weight compared with a typical superbike.

As a result, it reaches 0–60 mph in 2.77 seconds and 0–100 km/h in 2.86 seconds.

The sprint to 0–100 mph in an astonishing 4.95 seconds places it among the very few motorcycles capable of breaking the five-second barrier.

Thanks to its exceptional launch capability, the Hayabusa can consistently deliver sub-10-second quarter-mile times. Its best recorded run is a shattering 9.91 seconds at a terminal speed of 150 mph.

It covers 0–200 km/h in just 6.87 seconds and the magic 0–300 km/h mark in a mind-boggling 19.36 seconds.

A de-restricted Gen 2 Hayabusa has a top speed of 199 mph, while the restricted mode limits it to around 188 mph.
